Dos and Don’ts at the scene of the accident

In the event of an accident, please do the following and gather all possible information:

Dos:

  • When did it happen? Be precise if possible.
  • Where did it happen? Provide address, road names, landmarks and/or build.
  • If there is a witness who saw this, please get their name and full contact details.
  • Take pictures (license plate, IDs, area of the incident, damage and anything else useful).
  • What happened? Provide full details, description of circumstances and damages or injuries, and weather or road conditions.
  • Who is involved? Collect the names and contact details of all persons involved.
  • Call the police – if possible, get a police statement and any reference numbers.

Do Not

  • Do Not complete the Incident Report Form in front of the Third Party.
  • Do Not discuss any issues of liability or fault with other parties involved.
